A Covenant School in the Charlotte Mason Tradition We
believe God has given parents the primary responsibility of educating their
children, and thus the school is to function as an extension of the
home. CCS supplements what is learned at home by teaching love and
obedience to God, by pursuing academic excellence, and by developing
Christian and social graces. The ultimate goal of CCS is to teach its
students to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.
Kindergarten classes meet from 8:30 to 12:30 four days a week, Monday through Thursday. First and second grade classes also meet four hours a day, but for five days a week. On Fridays, parents take turns teaching a variety of assigned topics in first and second grades by bringing their own experiences and prepared lessons to their child’s classroom. Through field trips and ideas from supplemental materials made available at school, parents share the joy of learning with these young first and second graders!
Third grade meets four hours two days a week and six hours three days a week. Parents help with social events and field trips when needed. Fourth through eighth grades attend school six hours four days a week. The entire school dismisses at 12:30PM every Friday. Knowing how busy children’s schedules are with homework and extracurricular activities, CCS hopes to facilitate more family time with a shorter and more efficient school day. The school meets on the campus of the First Baptist Church of Tyrone at 305 Arrowood Road, Tyrone, GA in Fayette County, GA.
