What Makes Crossroads Christian School Unique?
A Covenant School – Ours is a community of evangelical Christian believers. Entrance requirements dictate that each Crossroads parent be a member in good standing of an evangelical church. Together we are living out our responsibilities to train and nurture our children.
“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:6, 7
Philosophy of Education – Our foundation is built on the fact that absolute moral truth exists and that this truth is defined by the Bible. The philosophy built on this foundation comes largely from the educational ideas discovered by Charlotte Mason, a ground-breaking and prominent educator in England in the 1800’s. These educational ideas include:
• Children are created in the image of God
• All truth is from God – learn to apply truth to all aspects of life – developing a biblical world view
• Children and teachers should model and imitate family values, rather than those easily
adopted in other settings
• Parents are primarily responsible for the education and training of their children and give
security, acceptance, and love that cannot be duplicated by other caregivers
• Smaller class size and shorter days allow strong relationships while minimizing peer pressure
A Biblical World View – Building and maintaining a biblical world view is a challenging process and one that is best started at an early age and kept at the center of attention throughout life. The key premise is that absolute moral truth exists and this truth comes from the bible. The goal of this process is to facilitate a means of interpreting and responding to every life situation in a way that is consistent with God’s expectations. Thus our slogan: …Preparing our children for the crossroads of their future.

ChildLight Schools Association
.
The ChildLight Schools Association was originally founded in 1995 as the Perimeter Schools Association and was comprised of covenant schools local to the Atlanta area that practice the Charlotte Mason principles of education. This group became the ChildLight Schools Association in 2003. The purpose of this association is to build unity through an intentional commitment to children as persons and image bearers of Jesus Christ by fostering edifying relationships among schools and school educators who are committed to the educational philosophy of Charlotte Mason as understood and applied from her writings.
